Can you believe 16 years has flown by since I became a licensed photographer. Or should I say since I photographed my first paying job. Thank you to all of those who I have worked with, to all those who were my guinea pigs, for those who loved to "play dress up". I have certainly come along way, and have learned so much. Some new changes are now in place for my business as a photographer. 2011 opened well, not a new line of work but something in a different direction which has had such an overwhelming response. My brother and I have opened an advertising company call Magic Values Magazine in Idaho. I am the Executive Art Director and will be designing ads for companies and overseeing the production. So far we are off to a good start. So I am only going to be offering my photography services for Models and Actors, Senior Graduates, because I photograph them a lot like a model shoot, Bridals and Engagements and Wedding Invitations. Some of the pricing will change a little. Thank you so much for all your support. Here is to an exciting new year.

Time flies by way to fast. Vesper is almost a month. These images are shot at 2 and 3 weeks. BW shots were shot with studio lighting and the color shots were shot with available light. Little ones change so fast that I have to take pictures every week so I don't miss a thing.

This week was one heck of a week. I was hired by Nordstroms Corporate in LA to be an assistant stylist for the University Mall in Orem Nordstroms Fall Fashion Show. I worked with the talented Erica Brandon from the Fashion Office in Chicago. Though it was a smaller show then some We had seven models and 31 outfits to put together and accessorize. Thanks to Nicole Cambata from the L.A. office of whom I worked for when Nordstroms opened there brand new store at Fashion Place Mall Murray a year ago. Wow time has flown by.

This was a great shoot at Union Station, Ogden. Engagements, Bridals or Groomals are great here. Since we shot in the morning the lighting did not allow us to take full advantage of the Union Station's grounds. Union station in Ogden is at the end of 25th street which is a fun old main like street with vendors on the streets and small ma and pa shops along the way. We did stop off at the original Farr's Ice Cream for a taste. Their wedding will take place at The Castle in Layton. Both wedding ceremony and reception so keep in touch to see their wedding day.

Weddings at the Bountiful Temple during the spring and summer are fantastic with the lush colors, the flowing water in the fountain, and the copper doors just under the statement that this is the lords house. Megan had her dress designed special for her, with a Forties flare, and a dash of Red enhancements and Kevin in a dark pin-stripped suit. What a distinguished couple. Congrats you two. Megan and Kevin decided to shoot Groomals together at the Utah State Capitol. Bridals with the grooms involved have become more popular. I really enjoy shooting Groomal because the couple will have amazing images together at a location other than the ceremony. Plus I have found more and more brides really want images with there sweetheart in them, then just them. When designing a custom wedding album for the couple I want to make something amazing for them. A wedding album they can't put down. A wedding album they want to share with everyone. Photographing groomals over just bridals is really an opportunity to create images that celebrate the couple and add to an overall amazing wedding album.

Bridals at the Salt Flats, Utah. What an amazing shoot this was. I shot Bridals and Groomals. Driving there is not my favorite. It took about an hour and a half. The ground was perfectly crackled. Jessica and Alex were game for what ever I had up my sleeve. I pulled out my little red radio flyer wagon, the both laughed. I said" humor me" as you can see in this series. I was right. In fact they were one of their favorites and was displayed at their reception. Wedding Photography can be so fun and enjoyable. Especially when your clients trust your creative ability to photograph them, in a wedding dress no less doing some of the things I have them try. I shot more angles than I usually do. I wanted a more abstract view of the whole image. I have already married women come to me because of this series and want bridals shot from me. Thank you Jessica and Alex. You both are awesome.

Why is it so hard for me to take photographs of my children. I bet it is because I am their mother who is the photographer. Trying to get them all to look my direction and stand still or walk or look the way I need them too is sometimes beyond trying my patients. But I keep doing it because I usually end up with images I just love. Plus I love my kids.
